What does adopting a lavender plot actually mean? Here it is, without the legal language. The binding version is in our Terms & Conditions.
When you adopt, you’re supporting the cultivation and care of a working lavender farm. In return, you receive the benefits of your membership plan: a certificate, a name or marker, news from the field through the year, and a seasonal box.
Your plant, plot or garden represents your connection to the farm. It is not legally subdivided land and does not transfer ownership of land, plants or any part of the harvest. The row or position on your certificate may be representative.
Some years produce more lavender, some less. Weather, drought, heavy rain, frost, fire, pests and disease all play a part, and none of them can be scheduled. That’s part of what makes following a real field worthwhile.
Wherever reasonably possible, the products in your seasonal box will incorporate, or be connected to, our partner farm’s harvest from that season.
If nature gives us less than expected, you’ll still receive your membership box. In that case we may use alternative or substitute products, ingredients or materials of comparable value, from the same farm, another partner producer or another appropriate source. We can’t guarantee that every item will contain lavender from your adopted field, plot or plants.
Products, packaging, scents, sizes, quantities and timing can therefore change from year to year. The products shown on our website are examples, not a fixed list. The harvest box is usually shipped in autumn and other boxes follow your plan’s schedule, but dates are estimates.
Until our partner farm’s own photography is ready, some photos and videos on our website are royalty-free images of the Valensole plateau. Example plant profiles and letters are labelled as examples. We will introduce the farmer and the field in their own words before the founding season.
If our partner farm can no longer take part, we may move your adoption to another field or partner producer offering a similar experience. We’ll let you know, and if you’d rather not continue you can cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for benefits not yet provided that year.
Memberships last one year and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account; you can also cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund if no box has shipped yet.
